A track

A track and how it emerges

When creating a track, I never know in the first place in what direction I will go. I sit and just jam. I try some sounds, I play some notes, and sometimes I just quit, bored as I am of myself. And then, all of a sudden, there is something that I like; I have a melody or loop that gets me. From that point on the direction of the piece becomes more and more clear to me. It’s the moment that I know what to do next. Of course, a music piece represents the mood I’m in at that moment. And if that mood is ‘persistant’ enough, I can go on. If not, then I have to go in another direction with my track and just quit what I was doing at that moment.
