The Eternal Quest

The Eternal Quest, new track by Brainvoyager

Released 23 August 2014

The thing that I am seeking
I know I shall not find
A wistful voice is crying
This sorrow in my mind
I know I shall not find it
However far I go
But I shall always seek it
My heart has told me so

My heart has told me so

My heart has told me so

Though I must always wander
I do not find it sweet
There is no journey’s ending
To draw my restless feet
There is no distant vision
To help me on my way
I know my quest is hopeless
But yet I may not stay

But yet I may not stay

But yet I may not stay

But yet I may not stay

The thing that I am seeking
Should not be far to seek
I hear its haunting echo
Through every word I speak
So I shall always seek it
Down all the roads I go
But I shall never find it
My heart has told me so

My heart has told me so

My heart has told me so

My heart has told me so

My heart has told me so

Has told me so

Has told me so

    Martijn Verboven about the artwork

This is my most recent photomanipulation. I made this as the cover for Brainvoyager’s new track The Eternal Quest, which will be released within a few hours. It’s like an electronic symphony, a real spacy track that just requires being listened to with your full attention. He asked me to listen to it the way one’s supposed to do it (lying back with your eyes closed, allowing it to take over your mind) and create a cover based on what I’d see in the trip my mind and fantasy would create for me based on the sounds. This is the result.

The music is so hypnotic that it makes you dream and see beautiful worlds you’ll be floating through, especially when you listen to it like this right before going to sleep (with a sleepy head), already in bed (which I did). I felt and saw myself floating through a large and empty frozen world, with thunder everywhere, that would kick in based on the melody and certain sounds that reminded me of it. It was like dreaming. Flying through that world which would change based on the emotions the melodies gave me. Everything was light, just bright and nearly shining; like a thunderbolt was constantly shining over me, ceasing to disappear.

I knew this was going to be the atmosphere this song needed, so I just had to recreate it. Therefore I did what I like to do: took a bland image of some trees with snow on them and added in everything I saw on my spacy journey through the song. The brightness, light, thunderbolts, a frozen lake in the background and a bit of fog, and now it’ll serve as the new cover soon.
